MySQL
Unix
Unix customers can be provided with a MySQL database. We will provide you with space on our MySQL server, create an empty database and give you the means to control the database. Connection to the database will be through Open Database Connectivity (ODBC), controlled by username and password. Connecting the database to the website can be conducted using customer-scripted PHP or PERL codes using a separate, non-administrative username and password for security.
Windows 2000
Windows 2000 customers can also be provided with a MySQL database, connectable through MyODBC. We will provide you with space on our Windows 2000 server, create an empty database and give you the means to control the database. Control of the database will be through ODBC with a username and password, and connecting the database to the website can be conducted using customer-scripted ASP codes using a separate, non-administrative username and password for security.
MS-SQL2000 Sever
Customers with a Windows 2000 website can also be provided with a Windows 2000 SQL2000 standard database. We will create an empty database providing a user with a Data Source Name, a username, and a password. Connecting the database to the website can be conducted using a separate, non-administrative username and password for security.
The database can be controlled using a variety of methods:
- With SQL query language in ASP pages. This means that the database can be controlled from your website.
- Using a SQL Server client such as SQL Server Query Analyser or Enterprise Manager.
- Importing or exporting from your Access database.
- Using DTS or BCP.

Backup
Our MySQL and SQL2000 databases are scheduled to dump to a local disk and from there are backed up to our central backup system on a daily basis. If a restore is required not caused by Phone Coop system failure, there will a charge.

MS Access
Microsoft Access provides an inexpensive solution for small-scale web enabled databases.
Phone Coop offer MS-Access database hosting within your Windows 2000 webspace on our Internet Access and Web Hosting packages on our shared servers.
Your website must be hosted by the Phone Coop.
You can upload your MS Access 2000 database to your webspace. We will set up the DSN for you. All you need to do is tell us the location of the database and what you want the DSN to be called.
